D.I.E.

To those who don't know TVB D.I.E. does not stand for anything other the latest series I have watched which is called D.I.E. aka Detective Investigation Extension. The main reason why I stuck to this series like glue was because it received high ratings in a pool of other good TVB dramas which received average ones, however I felt slightly dissapointed.
Ok firstly I did not fing the cases that difficult to solve and that was supposed to be one of it's selling points, in the end the ability to be able to connect with the dead just made it seem that every case was only solved because of that ability rather than true wit. I found those scenes some of the worst in the series. I felt Roger Kwok also went stiff towards the end. It just seemed like he got bored of filming and his facial expressions became gradually weaker and weaker. There was one scene though where I commend him for his natural charm but overall I felt this was a below average performance by him - I believe a main reason why this drama excelled was basically because Roger was in it (not for me but for HK).
Sonija however did a change, I felt she was stiff at the start but came to relax in the end! There were definitely some good moments in the show but I have to say the main parts e.g. the leads and the ending were forgettable. The ending on both sides were awful and probably one of the least captivating ones I have ever seen. I didn't like it one bit. Now that I talk about it I do feel really shocked that this series was the one of the series that beat Catch Me Now. It was nice however to see Margie Tsang but to be honest she didn't have much screentime anyway during the end. I felt this series also lacked a strong plot or an underlying mystery, the one that did come up seemed rather lame! I also felt everything was in a rush in the end and that it wasn't well wrapped up. I definitely feel dissapointed but I think I make it sound worse than it is. D.I.E is a watchable series but would it stay in my mind for long - I don't think so!
Catch Me Now is actually airing today in the UK but I've already watched it! Anyway it's a good series and I was thinking of watching it again, I really want to watch Forensic Heroes though however the ratings seemed to have dipped!
Anyway with D.I.E on the have watched list it extends it to 3 currently! Which is a shock I know considering it is June already! Anyway War of In Laws II will soon finish here so that will get me to 4. I'm not planning on watching the Master of Tai Chi any time soon because it bored me a bit when I watched it so I want to put my focus on ones I want to watch. The Seventh Day doesn't look like it will be airing soon here either nor does the Gentle Cracdown II. I think I may watch Wasabi Mon Amour online because I'll be in HK when it airs here. Finally The Silver Chamber of Sorrows has been airing in the UK but I skipped a few episodes so I'll need to watch them on the internet before I can make a judgement of it!
Anyway currently my ranking is:
Catch Me Now - above by a comfortable margin
A Journey Called Life - a strong simple series but lacked a good ending
D.I.E. - An average drama that had no ending what so ever!
The more I think of it the more I feel shocked that D.I.E. is the most watched this year with War of In Law II 2nd as WOIL II seems just to be OK. Anyway waiting to watch Forensic Heroes II and HOG II which I'll be in HK by that time!
