The Silver Chamber of Sorrows

Though I probably missed a quarter of the show I have decided to start this post because I won't have much time to revisit this show. In the future I may decide to rewatch it but currently it doesn't seem likely.
Anyway The Silver Chamber of Sorrows was an interesting drama which I found to be overall a good series (though my Dad seems to think otherwise!). I felt the cast was generally good but of course with the usual bad acting. Let's go into a character anaylsis first.
Nancy Sit was the first wife of Paul Chun, a character who tries to fight for the good of the family. I did seem to find the character development minimal and to be honest she would be a better support character in my opinion. I felt Nancy did a good job but at times I felt it seemed a little off.
Paul Chun played the "evil" father and husband of the Sheung family. To me he protrayed it well because I didn't like him! He really did capture his role but I never like the bad guys who are ignorant!
Ng Wai Kwok didn't really interest me. Since Drive of Life I felt his acting was slightly stunted. I didn't really connect with his character either and overall I didn't feel much towards this character or Ng Wai Kwok.
Shirley Yeung played a maid who turned out to be a daughter of the Sheung Family. Shirley showed her usual acting in this role but I think she fits it. However I didn't see much of her as I didn't watch the episodes where her main scenes were.
Christine Ng was probably my favourite character by quite a far margin. Though I can see acting faults I liked her portrayal. Though her story seemed slightly exagerrated I liked it as she was the only person who I was interested in!
Jack Wu didn't really get me through his acting!
Rebecca Chan was annoying at the start but I think she portrayed her role well though she seemed kind of wierd when she had brain damage (her acting I mean).

Overall this series didn't have many characters who I really liked with only Christine Ng holding the fortress for me, however I do accept I missed some of the episodes. Do I feel it is a series to watch - Yes. My favourite scene was probably the death of Nancy Wu which seemed really haunting when I watched it. I think the whole series escalated with that scene and it was that scene that got me interested again. Though the best scene this year still seems to lie with Sharon Chan finding Johnson Lee dead in Catch Me Now!
Ok with this series I am going to rank the shows...

1st... As everyone knows is Catch Me Now
2nd... A Journey Called Life
3rd... (Just beat out 4th) D.I.E.
4th... The Silver Chamber of Sorrows
5th... The Master of Tai Chi (sorry Raymond and Myolie!)

Well the first episode of Forensic Heroes was aired today and it was an ok to good start. I felt the episode was climbing up and up in terms of how good a start it was but I think it was way to quick into the cases! Overall we'll have to see how it develops because the second and third weeks in Hong Kong received lower ratings that the first week.
(Survivor's Law II and The Building Blocks of Life are currently not ranked but I probably rank them later though I'm quite shady on the Building blocks of life).
Well so War of In Laws II is in its latter stages here whilst of course Forensic Heroes is just starting. As I will be going to Hong Kong in July I will probably have to watch the Gentle Crackdown II, The Seventh Day, Wasabi Mon Amour and The Money Maker Recipe online (but I don't think either will make much of an impact on me!) The Speech of Silence doesn't interest me but if it airs I'll watch it! Love Exchange seems slightly Ok so I'll see. When a Dog Loves a Cat will be my Hong Kong series but I don't have to high of a hope for this whilst Moonlight Resonance will be my much awaited series!
