I've just been getting busier and busier this year that all my plans are going down the drain - but I'll at least update on my current series.
Though Survivor's Law has finished broadcasting I didn't watch the whole of it so I'll need to watch it again to decide.
A Journey Called Life is currently OK for me - I felt so sorry when Elaine died, it was pitiful watching that scene and will leave a mark on many youngsters. I think it is a good series, it's not brilliant as such but I think it is worth watching.
Let's go deeper into it. I think Linda has been improving so much since HOG and I really commend her as she is definitely one of my favourite actresses. Elaine also did a great job as her role shame it was only for half the series! Kent Cheng is a delight to watch however there are some things that get on my nerves about his acting which I'll talk about later! Steven Ma is like always not much change in his acting whilst any series with Mary Hon is a good series! Just love her acting - greatest female veteran award!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fala Chen is also developing well but before she can get to the leading lady status she really needs to speak with more clarity in her chinese. Out of the main characters the weakest is probably Raymond Cho, normally he's fine but there's just this thing about him that doesn't work for me and sometimes he tends to do some awkward things with his eyes! The young couple relationship is also boring me so much - I hate it, the characters are boring and the actors aren't great. I'm also happy that Queenie Chu is appearing in so many more series now but her acting can be stiff! I don't know what the problem is but her expressions lack variety but she looks like she is trying!
D.I.E is also airing now. I have watched two episodes - the first episode was a letdown it seemed so wierd and uninteresting. Raymond did these wierd things and worst of all were those pre-premonition antics which were so awful! I also felt Sonija Kwok's expressions as slighty stiff which hasn't been as such in the past. The second episode was much better - there were things that were actually funny! Anyway I still need to see more to give a better judgement.
At the moment War Of In Laws 2, D.I.E and A Journey Called Life are airing.
Tai Chi is the only one that has finished airing out of the 2008 series. I wasn't too interested in it - sorry even with the cast which I kind of liked I wasn't intrigued to watch every episode!
The 2 series that are airing in Hong Kong now don't seem to be ones that I would chose to watch - firstly catch me now has two veterans - now don't get me wrong but I haven't been a fan of Damia Lau and I tend to think that veteran comebacks are overhyped! Fala and Joe as a couple seem off to me as Joe is too old - also don't get me wrong here I'm fine with any relationship but watching it is another thing. Then Idy is supposedly Fala's best friend! What happened to Sharon! Anyway I'm just totally confused. I will watch it because of the lure from seeing Koni and Aimee act for their first time hopefully they won't fall from grace like Carrie Lee did.
The Silver Chamber of Sorrows is also similar to CMN because of the cast - the cast just looks wierd and it seems kind of like a joke to be honest! I'm not sure actors that may have never acted together before (the entire cast) will get good chemistry! I will watch it though as I like Christine and Paul Chun a lot whilst Jack, Shirley, Rebecca, Nany Wu and Nancy Sit. The only person I'm not exactly liking is Ng Wai Kwok.
Currently from all the series that have aired after the anniversary ones I think Myolie Wu and Roger Kwok are in contention of winning awards by the fact that if Liza wins another one I will die! And Sonija isn't exactly winning material! Also Bosco can't win before Raymond as it would just be wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do hope Steven Ma gets some recognition as they always forget about him.
The Seventh Day and The Master of Tai Chi were flunks so Kevin is unlikely to get any praise as his curse continues! Let's just hope it won't extend to Forensic Heroes!!!!! Charmaine is also in this oh god what if the ratings drop below 25!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I don't hate them it's just that they are ratings poisons).
However there is still a long way to go considering Forensic Heroes II, The Four, The Gem of Life and even When a Dog Loves a Cat are goin gto come out soon, we may see Bobby on the podium this year - who knows! Hope Raymond does though with The Four as Tai Chi bombed! But maybe they'll leave it for HOG II. I do strongly think Myolie is in huge contention this year though.
High hopes for HOG II as Raymond is main lead - yeah. Cordial Heroes which is currently filming doesn't have a good cast for me. The Turbulence of East and West seems interesting whilst I really do think that The Academy Full Throttle is going to flunk - each year the female cast just gets more diverse (in the wrong way). I'm sorry Tavia was great and even though Fiona wasn't she brought the mood up. In Series II Kate Tsui was a mess whilst even though I love Joey I can't say she is the best actress Sonija Kwok was Ok but another death means another change in actresses! Kathy Chow would be a joy but Elanne and Kaki I highly doubt will make me jumping for joy! I think they have used this title too much to earn ratings - are Ron and Sammul such an attraction that a third series needs to be made with an awkward cast. It just seems Ron and Sammul are playboys now as each series they change girlfriends. So I guess Ron has now dumped Joey after dumping Tavia and gone off with Elanne! TVB just write a new series!
Burning Flame III looks OK but how are they going to carry on the series after such a long gap!
I have also seen something of Wives and Concubines filming! The cast looks as mysterious as the ones mentioned above. Wayne Lai and Sheren will lead with Ron and Suki obviously the younger leads - WHAT. How is Wayne and Sheren going to have a chemistry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ron and Suki also!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just hope Sheren has signed herself for a good role.
